Tiki-Toki Timeline

tiki tokiI chose the Tiki-Toki generator to create an on-line timeline. Why? In my opinion, Tiki-Toki is a very user friendly tool. It has very modern graphic design. Also, Tiki-Toki allows to create the professional timelines.

Which advantages does Tiki-Toki have according to its creators? Firstly, you don’t have to download anything because it works in your browser. You can choose from 4 accounts: Free, Teacher, Bronze and Silver. With the free account you can create only one timeline. As I tried it I would definitely buy a paid version of an account. I think each student and teacher will appreciate such a tool.  It also allows you to view your timeline in 3D. It collaborates with YouTube, Vimeo, and Google. Uploading videos and pictures cannot be easier.

I tried to explore all the functions of Tiki-Toki and create a timeline called The History of Social Media. I highlighted the most important turning points in the history of social media. 1969 was a key moment of the development of social media because Arpanet was invented. Then, I tried to describe the main predecessors of the nowadays social media. I mentioned Usenet, Friendster, SixDegrees but also current networks such as Facebook, YouTube or Google+. I also mentioned Lide.cz. It was one of the Czech social networks slowly replaced with Facebook.
